20/02/18: Gold Kist farms chicken patties recalled for possible foreign material

Gold-Kist-Chicken-Patties-RecallPilgrim’s Pride of Texas is recalling about 101,310 pounds of ready-to-eat breaded chicken patties because they may be contaminated with foreign materials, more specifically rubber. A customer complaint was lodged on February 13, 2018. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or injuries due to the consumption of this product. Anyone who is concerned about possible adverse reactions should contact their healthcare provider.

The ready-to-eat breaded chicken patties were produced and packed on September 6, 20017. The product is 30-pound boxes with six 5-pound clear bags containing “GOLD KIST FARMS, Fully Cooked Whole Grain Home-Style Breaded Chicken Patties,” with case code 72491050xx and product code 665400. The product has the establishment number “P-20728” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the label. They were shipped to institutions nationwide.

The product is sold through the USDA commodity program and was distributed to schools. The introduction of foreign material was apparently due to an equipment failure at the facility that manufactured the chicken patties.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it and do not serve it to others. The products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.

When available, the retail distribution list for this product will be posted on the FSIS website.
